Part One

Hosts Chandrishan & Vrai Perera talk to Shanthi Wijesinghe on the "WHY" of 'Making Parents' Sri Lanka's first ever TV Series dedicated to Parents!

It's one job that no University on earth can train you for!

  • Are you alone in your problems as a parent?
  • Should a parent's journey be filled with uncertainty and doubt?
  • Is it constant a struggle to raise children to be caring, hard working and thoughtful adults?
  • How do parents choose to approach that journey ?
  • How do they balance their parenting goals and their expectations ?

From Choosing a pre-school to dealing with fussy eaters, this introduction looks at what's to come during the 12-part series.

Part Two

The chat continues with a focus on the more serious aspect of Pre-school & Montessori education in Sri Lanka. Our hosts discuss the Episode on Maria Montessori which featured the head of AMI Australia Carmen Parker who spoke about the role of the teacher in a Montessori classroom. Follow the child not the Book!

The importance of early intervention and the role of the pre-school teacher in a child's life during his or her first years in a small society.

Chan jumps in to introduce the special Episode on Children and Animals and Dhevan the teenage zoo-keeper! What do animals teach kids? A wonderful story of how kids relate to Animals and what they get in return.

Part Three

Onto Little chefs with a sneak preview of the Kids at Seekers making a salad with REAL knives. Shocking stuff for Chan & Vrai as they grapple with teaching kids to be independent vs giving them access to tools. Montessori Minutes concentrates on teaching kids to use tools in the correct way.

A Special Episode on Kids in Theater showcases the Junior Workshop Players, a troupe of 58 Children who make up the cast of "Bugsy Malone" where kids act out adult roles and we meet a family with all four children in Theater.
